Job Summary

As an Apprentice Pipefitter at Strike Group, you will possess the full range of knowledge required to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for various industrial systems. You will be expected to support and participate in a culture of safety and adhere to Strike's Code of Conduct and Values, treating others with dignity, respect, and fairness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate installation and maintenance of pipe systems.
  • Assist journeyperson pipefitters with the installation of equipment, pipe, and structural steel on site.
  • Assemble piping and valves in module and compressor packages.
  • Prepare pipe and fittings for tacking, hoisting, and rigging.
  • Hydrotest, assemble, and install pipe spools in the fabrication facility.
  • Measure, cut, and thread pipe to the required shape.
  • Install supports, valves, piping, and control systems.
  • Remove and replace worn components and reactivate systems.

Requirements

  • Must be a registered Apprentice with the appropriate provincial or federal authority.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working outdoors.

Working Environment

Based out of our Whitecourt location, candidates local to Whitecourt are preferred, but candidates local to Edmonton will be considered.
