About This Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health Authority has an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner in Oncology to join our team at Yarmouth Regional Hospital. As a key member of our oncology unit, you will provide high-quality care to cancer patients in South West Nova Scotia. Our state-of-the-art unit features a satellite pharmacy, excellent nursing and specialist support, and a comfortable and private area for patients. You will work closely with our existing GP Oncology physicians to provide outpatient clinical services to cancer patients 5 days a week. A training stipend may be available for a Family Medicine physician with no oncology expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality care to cancer patients in the oncology unit
  • Work closely with our existing GP Oncology physicians to provide outpatient clinical services
  • Participate in the development and implementation of oncology care plans
Qualifications
  • Eligibility for certification by the College of Family Physicians of Canada
  • Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia
  • Successful completion of training in Oncology as determined via partnership with Cancer Care Nova Scotia
