Position Overview

As the Senior Claims Rehabilitation Manager, you will oversee the management of a portfolio of moderately to highly intricate injury claims. Your role involves guiding and supporting claimants in their recovery journey while facilitating access to benefits and external resources. You will assess files for potential return-to-work (RTW) opportunities, track rehabilitation and RTW progress, and manage claim finances to ensure cost-effectiveness while being vigilant for potential claims leakage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement rehabilitation strategies, RTW plans, and long-term case management plans tailored to the individual needs of claimants.
  • Continuously monitor the recovery process of claimants, anticipating and addressing potential obstacles to recovery and benefit closure.
  • Assist claimants in understanding their recovery responsibilities, advising them of any changes in their medical status, and ensuring adherence to the agreed-upon actions in their recovery plan.
  • Collaborate with the claimant's rehabilitation team, facilitating medical consultations as necessary.
  • Engage actively in a collaborative pod environment, contributing to decision-making, sharing information, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Provide mentorship to fellow pod members, recognizing teachable moments and fostering the professional development of the team.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Medical Rehabilitation (Athletic, Occupational, or Physical Therapy, or Kinesiology), or a related field.
  • Degree in Business, Arts, or a relevant discipline.
  • Certification in Case Management, such as:
    • Rehabilitation Case Management Certificate
    • Rehabilitation Benefit Administration Certificate
    • Disability Management Practitioner Certificate
    • NIDMAR designation is considered an asset.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in case management.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess various claimant scenarios and determine appropriate actions, with an understanding of underlying causes and implications of decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Proficient in financial calculations and managing claim finances, ensuring adequate reserves and accurate payments.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Access to a personal vehicle and a valid driver's license.
