Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement structural engineering designs for new infrastructure projects and seismic upgrade projects in accordance with Canadian Codes and Standards.
- Perform analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures and concrete foundations.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and prepare reports relating to existing and new structures.
- Evaluate and analyze existing structures for modifications and additions, and propose reinforcement solutions.
- Prepare specifications, design criteria, and material take-off for projects.
- Supervise the work of other engineers on the project team and liaise with client representatives and general contractors directly.
- Support Business Development efforts and contribute to the growth and success of the company.
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering from a recognized University (Master's degree considered an asset).
- Registered as a Professional Engineer in BC (Registration in another Province or internationally considered an asset).
- Designated Structural Engineer (Struct.Eng.) in BC.
- 12+ years' experience in a structural design environment, including 10 years' experience in seismic upgrade projects.
- Thorough understanding of the design of structural steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.
- Proficiency in application of Canadian Codes and Standards.
- Proficiency in structural engineering analysis and design software such as SFRAME, ETABS or SAP2000.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both written and verbal English.
