This role is crucial in fostering a robust safety culture and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in implementing and maintaining EHS programs, conducting audits, and investigating incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve Bunge's EHS standards and programs to minimize risks associated with serious injuries, fatalities, high-potential exposures, confined spaces, electrical safety, mobile equipment operation, and environmental incidents.
  • Provide expert technical guidance and support to plant leadership and employees on all aspects of EHS.
  • Coach and mentor employees to promote a proactive safety culture and empower them to lead with safety as a top priority.
  • Design and deliver comprehensive EHS training programs for all personnel, contractors, and visitors, covering worksite safety practices, environmental permits, licenses, and requirements related to stormwater, wastewater, air emissions, and waste management.
  • Collaborate with the corporate environmental team to implement sustainable practices at the plant and contribute to data collection and improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure fire protection and security systems are effectively managed to safeguard property from loss. Act as a liaison with insurance company inspectors and coordinate responses to recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans, and oversee their execution in the event of environmental emergencies, natural disasters, injuries, fires, or other adverse events.
  • Support Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP) programs as applicable to locations handling solvents, hydrogen, ammonia, and combustible dust.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the plant and government agencies for all EHS matters.
