Key Responsibilities:

  • Crafting and refining diverse materials including briefing documents, blog entries, website content, and social media posts;
  • Assisting in the creation of an internal asset repository featuring biographies, headshots, and media insights;
  • Utilizing monitoring tools to analyze and report on content performance;
  • Offering strategic recommendations for media pitches and narrative angles;
  • Addressing media inquiries concerning Baycrest programs, specialists, and research initiatives;
  • Aiding in the identification of proactive media opportunities;
  • Uncovering compelling stories suitable for various communication platforms;
  • Strategizing and producing content for social media channels;
  • Updating the website and facilitating migration to a new intranet;
  • Ensuring all communications are consistent with the Baycrest brand identity;
  • Developing metrics and feedback systems to assess communication effectiveness;
  • Collaborating with different departments and external entities;
  • Supporting the Corporate Communications team with various projects;
  • Managing timelines and prioritizing tasks effectively;
  • Performing additional duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in communications, public relations, English, journalism, or marketing;
  • Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or refugee;
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities;
  • Interest in healthcare, research, innovation, and education sectors;
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and content management systems;
  • Knowledge of communication best practices;
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment;
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities;
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively;
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality work;
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications;
  • Capable of handling sensitive information with confidentiality;
  • Must meet Baycrest Occupational Health & Safety standards;
  • Google certifications and additional digital media expertise are advantageous.
