Key Responsibilities:

Customer Safety Training

  • Conduct on-site training sessions for client employees, covering essential safety training programs and additional safety topics as required.
  • Provide expert guidance on safety training mandates tailored to each customer account.
  • Facilitate train-the-trainer workshops for safety training programs aimed at equipment operators, including courses such as Combo Forklift, Backhoe, Skid Steer, and Excavator/Mini Excavator. Organize and oversee instructor and operator training for client personnel, covering various topics including MSHA, Red Cross First Aid, Counterbalanced Forklift, Loader, Dozer, Excavator, Boom Lift, Scissor Lift, and Fall Protection.

Internal Safety Training

  • Educate United Rentals staff to become trainers for various safety courses, ensuring a sufficient number of trainers are available across each District in the Region and division.
  • Offer training support to internal instructor trainees, branch personnel, and equipment operators as needed.
  • Maintain the internal training network to ensure consistent delivery of safety education.

Customer Qualification Process

  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and operations teams to address customer-facing safety requirements and engage with clients to communicate program objectives and progress.
  • Propose tailored training solutions based on the specific needs of each customer.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or a combination of relevant education and experience is required.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) skills are preferred in select markets.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in delivering safety training for equipment operators is essential, with experience in train-the-trainer programs being advantageous.
  • Prior safety experience or formal safety education is preferred.
  • Proven expertise in a company's safety training program and content delivery is necessary.
  • Familiarity with Federal, State, and Provincial occupational safety regulations, including OSHA, FAA, MSHA, EPA, and health standards such as ANSI, NFPA, NEC, and other non-regulatory safety codes is required.
  • Knowledge of MSHA requirements and associated training programs, including Aerial Work Platforms and Forklifts, is necessary.
  • Strong team facilitation skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional environments are essential.
  • Demonstrated sales skills, particularly in conveying the value of training to internal sales teams and potential clients, are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is necessary.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 70% of the time is expected.
  • Ability to lift over 20 lbs as needed.
