With over 40 years of expertise in the global oil and gas industry, IPC specializes in proprietary Electroless Nickel and Polymer coatings.
Job Summary
We are currently seeking a permanent, part-time Financial Controller. This pivotal role involves overseeing the daily accounting and administrative functions of a compact accounting team. The Financial Controller will generate financial reports, conduct cash flow forecasting and budgeting, and spearhead special accounting initiatives as required. This position is well-suited for a seasoned accountant looking for flexible working hours within a well-established, privately owned manufacturing firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee weekly and month-end accounting operations.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the accounting output of a small team.
- Prepare monthly journal entries, working papers, and reconciliations.
- Assess operational and financial outcomes, articulating the company's performance to management.
- Compile month-end reports, cash flow forecasts, quarterly Board presentations, and draft year-end financial statements.
- Ensure the accuracy and functionality of the accounting system while collaborating with the external IT service provider.
- Manage the annual budgeting process.
- Administer salaried payroll, review hourly payroll, and oversee all payroll accounts.
- Handle employee onboarding and termination documentation.
- Collaborate closely with the plant CEO, operations team, and head-office finance team.
- Prepare year-end working papers for external auditors' review.
- Compile documentation for Board meetings.
Required Skills
- Proficient in Excel.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks preferred (Sage acceptable).
- Hands-on experience in financial statement and budget preparation.
- Strong grasp of financial systems, processes, and internal controls.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse groups across the organization.
- Genuine interest in understanding the business and supporting operational teams in financial and operational decision-making.
- Professional maturity, sound judgment, and quality decision-making.
- Aptitude for effectively coaching and mentoring team members.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Degree, certificate, or designation in accounting from a recognized institution or a combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of five years of comprehensive accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards for private enterprises.
- Experience with QuickBooks or Sage accounting systems.
- Familiarity with Ceridian/Dayforce or equivalent payroll systems.
