About the Role

Fenix Construction is seeking a skilled Construction Painter to join our team. As a Construction Painter, you will be responsible for preparing, cleaning, and painting surfaces to ensure a high-quality finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Surface Preparation: Clean and sand surfaces to be painted, repair cracks and holes, and apply wallpaper and other fabric to walls.
  • Painting and Finishing: Apply paint, wallpaper, and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces, ensuring a smooth and even finish.
  • Customer Service: Advise consumers on colors and choice of wall coverings, providing expert recommendations to meet their needs.
  • Equipment and Machinery Operation: Operate brush painting, conventional spray painting, patterned rollers, and roller painting equipment to achieve desired results.
  • Surface Preparation Experience: Utilize drywall taping/patching and water/hydroblasting techniques to prepare surfaces for painting.
  • Coating and Application Specialization: Apply multi-color finishes, powdered coatings, and paint spraying techniques to achieve unique and high-quality finishes.
  • Wood Finishing and Wall Covering Specialization: Apply staining techniques to wood surfaces and install wallpaper, vinyl, and wood veneers to walls.
  • Transportation and Travel: Possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel to various job sites.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work in a physically demanding environment, requiring attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to distinguish between colors.
  • Weight Handling: Lift and move materials weighing up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs) with ease.
  • Personal Suitability: Demonstrate initiative, a strong work ethic, and excellent communication skills to succeed in this role.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field
  • Equivalent experience in a related field
