Position Overview
The School of Construction and the Environment at BCIT is in search of a temporary full-time Lead Specialist for Mass Timber and Offsite Construction. This role encompasses spearheading initiatives aimed at developing educational programs and pilot projects to support individuals within the mass timber and offsite construction sector. The Lead Specialist will collaborate with a team to pinpoint training needs, implement enhancements to current programs, and address curriculum deficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish project objectives and deliverables, securing approval from management and stakeholders.
- Formulate project plans and strategies to meet established goals.
- Oversee project execution, track progress, and report to leadership teams and stakeholders.
- Conduct a comprehensive review of existing training programs and identify areas for improvement.
- Collect data through industry surveys and needs assessments.
- Deliver project updates to stakeholders and prepare detailed progress reports.
- Build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay informed on industry developments and provide insights on emerging opportunities.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in engineering, architecture, science, or project management.
- A minimum of seven years of relevant experience in educational roles, private sector, and supervisory positions.
- Proven experience in project management and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities and self-motivation.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Capability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
