Job Summary:

Pembina Trails School Division is seeking a Casual Educational Assistant to support students with diverse needs and abilities. As an Educational Assistant, you will work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to promote inclusive practices and foster engagement in the learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with behavioural and learning challenges in a classroom, small group, and individual settings
  • Provide academic support to students and deliver specialized or adapted programming under the direction of the classroom teacher and resource teacher
  • Document student-specific program performance and provide supports for students with challenging educational needs
  • Supervise recess and lunch duty, as well as assist with the swim program
  • Administer student medication as determined by the student's U.R.I.S. plan and support students in community-based programs
  • Support students' emotional, behavioural, and physical needs, and be flexible in adapting to students' educational programming
  • Use augmentative and alternative communication and facilitate the transport of students between education sites
  • Assist students with eating, including supervision during lunch and oral feeding
