About the Opportunity

Job Summary: Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking an experienced Orthopedic Surgeon to join our team in Western Zone. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive orthopedic care to patients in a general orthopedics setting, with a focus on hip and knee arthroplasty, trauma, and fracture care.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide full-scope orthopedic care to patients in Western Zone, including surgical procedures and consultations.
  • Participate in on-call shifts to ensure 24/7 coverage.
  • Liaise with staff within the zone and province to advance the delivery of orthopedic surgery care.
  • Offer consultation support to Western Zone, including day-time coverage and occasional overnight/weekend coverage.
  • Be accountable to the patient population in Western Zone by providing clinics and occasional satellite clinics that require travel.
  • Operate within the Bylaws, Rules, and Regulations of Nova Scotia Health Authority.

Qualifications:

  • Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia.
  • Eligibility for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
  • Membership with the Canadian Orthopaedic Association.
