Job Title: Cyclotron Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyclotron Technologist to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the preparation of radiopharmaceuticals and reagents under Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), carrying out quality control of radiopharmaceuticals, and operating the cyclotron as an auxiliary cyclotron operator for both internal and external customers for clinical use and research.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare radiopharmaceuticals and reagents under GMP
  • Carry out quality control of radiopharmaceuticals
  • Operate the cyclotron as an auxiliary cyclotron operator
  • Assist in development of new radiotracers using various radioisotopes and automated synthesis units
  • Support the Cyclotron Maintenance Specialist in maintenance activities of the cyclotron and other facility equipment
Requirements:
  • Recent experience performing benchwork (wet chemistry) in a laboratory setting
  • Experience with quality control (QC), GC, TLC, and HPLC
  • Recent experience working in a GMP environment
  • Experience in programming and running of automated synthesis units (ASUs) for both [11C] and [18F] radiosynthesis
  • Experience working in a cyclotron or radiopharmacy program
Education:
  • University degree in Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Biological Sciences, or related field
