Job Summary

CB Canada is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst - Group Benefits to join our team. As a key member of our financial services sector, you will be responsible for reviewing reconciliations, preparing financial reports, and making recommendations to management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Analysis: Review reconciliations prepared by senior accounting specialists to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Reconciliation Preparation: Prepare reconciliations, identify and resolve differences, and prepare monthly account reconciliation reporting.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and review financial reports, including balance sheet accounts, to ensure effective management and control.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements to increase team efficiencies and internal controls.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and technical support to senior accounting specialists and other departments.
  • Audit Support: Coordinate and/or support internal and external audits.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting or Finance or equivalent.
  • Designation: Accounting designation or actively working towards accounting designation (CMA, CGA, CA).
  • Experience: 5+ years of accounting experience.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent Excel skills, and strong computer skills (Word, Oracle Discoverer/Financial Analyzer, FOCUS, SAP).
  • Language: Good communication skills, both oral and written, in English and French.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Controls Environment: Strong knowledge and understanding of controls environment.
  • Financial Accounting Systems: Knowledge of financial accounting systems and reporting tools (Oracle General Ledger, Oracle Discoverer/Financial Analyzer, SAP).
  • Group Products and Services: Knowledge of group products, services, and systems (Group CDB accounting systems, Group administration and claim systems).
