Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Child Care Specialist to join our team at 2765016 ONTARIO INC. This role is essential in fostering the growth and development of young children in a nurturing environment.

Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years in a related field.
Work Environment

The position is set in a child care centre that may be noisy at times, providing a dynamic atmosphere for both staff and children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide care for infants and toddlers, including bathing, diapering, and feeding.
  • Design and implement child-care programs that promote physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
  • Engage children through storytelling, music, and creative activities.
  • Assist in maintaining records and reports on children's progress and behavior.
  • Encourage creativity through various forms of artistic expression.
  • Support children in developing healthy habits related to eating, dressing, and toilet training.
  • Prepare snacks and organize spaces for meals and rest.
  • Monitor children for any signs of learning or behavioral challenges and communicate findings with parents or supervisors.
  • Participate in staff meetings to discuss children's development and address any concerns.
  • Plan activities for school-age children during before and after school hours.
Supervision

Responsible for supervising a group of 5-10 children.

Certifications

Must possess a Child Development Assistant (ECE Level 1) certification.

Safety and Security

A criminal record check is required for this position.

Transportation

Own transportation is necessary, although public transportation options are available.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Attention to detail is crucial.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, crouch, and kneel as needed.
