Job Summary:

As a Transportation Monitor - Student Support and Safety at First Student, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our routes. You will work closely with drivers to provide operational oversight, day-to-day management, and assist in maintaining a positive and safe environment for students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor student behavior and welfare during routes, communicating any concerns with drivers
  • Assist in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus
  • Help students load and unload safely
  • Cooperate with school personnel, students, and parents
  • Attend safety and training meetings
  • Conduct emergency evacuations and use of emergency doors
  • Clean the interior of the bus
  • Assist drivers in safely directing the vehicle backwards

Requirements:

  • Strong verbal communication skills

  • Sound judgement and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage high levels of stress
