The Clinical Dietitian is a key member of the healthcare team at Southern Health-Santé Sud, responsible for providing expert nutrition assessment, management, and support to clients and communities.

As a registered dietitian, the incumbent applies nutrition and dietetic theory, key knowledge, and critical thinking skills to improve the health of clients and residents of Southern Health-Santé Sud.

The position requires a high level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods, and action to be taken on unusual matters.

Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited university with a major in Human Nutritional Sciences or equivalent
  • Dietetic Internship Certificate from an accredited program
  • Registered Dietitian; must be a registered member of the College of Dietitians of Manitoba (CDM)
  • Member of Dietitians of Canada recommended
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience as a Dietitian or in a nutrition-related profession
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with populations with diverse cultural and social backgrounds
  • Demonstrated ability to function effectively within a collaborative healthcare team
  • Demonstrated organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population
  • Proficiency in both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions
  • Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job
  • Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality
  • Good work and attendance record

Conditions of Employment

  • Requires a valid Class 5 driver's license, an all-purpose insured vehicle, and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00
