Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Communications Advisor to join our team at GFL Environmental. As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic communications plans to support our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement long-term and short-term communications strategies aligned with our business objectives;
  • Identify the most effective communication methods to support our divisions in each of our regions;
  • Promote our company's activities and ensure their follow-up in Quebec and Eastern Ontario;
  • Maintain good relationships with local stakeholders that our company serves in each of the regions where it operates;
  • Participate in the deployment of the Diversity Engagement program's communication;
  • Write press releases or any other document intended for the media and external stakeholders;
  • Conduct daily monitoring of news related to our sector;
  • Keep our digital platforms up-to-date and ensure they are adapted to the Quebec market, in collaboration with the GFL team;
  • Write and design promotional tools as well as various internal and external documents;
  • Conceive and coordinate multidisciplinary projects;
  • Represent the company at events;
  • Any other related task.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 3 to 8 years of experience in communications;
  • Experience in public relations, events, and partnerships;
  • Experience in the environmental sector;
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint);
  • Knowledge and proficiency in digital platforms;
  • Experience in natural referencing and with Google Analytics (asset);
  • Knowledge in graphic production, visual creation, and video and photo production (asset);
  • Ability to write;
  • Knowledge and proficiency with WordPress;
  • Excellent written French skills;
  • Intermediate-level English skills and above;
  • Travel to our divisions;
