About the Role

The Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Director to lead the planning and development of multiple, concurrent small and large-scale complex strategic and capital projects across PHSA provincial sites and locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic direction and expertise in the management of multiple, concurrent small and large-scale complex strategic and capital projects.
  • Develop and manage overall project budgets, establish project timelines, and negotiate and manage consultant/contractor contracts.
  • Track and monitor risks, report on project status, issues, and recommended solutions, and authorize expenditures within the project budget.
  • Ensure project cost, schedule, and scope meet stakeholder quality and other requirements, balancing project risk and uncertainty through risk management and mitigation plans.
  • Provide leadership in directing work teams and user groups, and ensure appropriate internal and external project resourcing.
  • Oversee revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Ensure that projects are executed in compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and standards.
Requirements
  • A Master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline, with a minimum of 7-10 years of recent, related experience in progressively more complex leadership roles in a large multi-site organization within a project planning environment.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing leadership, achieving objectives, providing quality services, and effective management of resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt in a complex environment and ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects and programs simultaneously.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of health care and relevant government procedures, standards, and requirements.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external clients and interdisciplinary teams.
