Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time CPA professional with expertise in monthly and regulatory reporting for Canadian and US public companies. This role will report directly to the Corporate Controller and will involve participation in various accounting and financial reporting projects in accordance with IFRS and US GAAP, as well as SOX internal controls.

The Accounting Manager role is situated in our Vancouver office and plays a crucial role within our accounting and finance department for a rapidly expanding company. This position collaborates with teams across Canada and the US to support the financial reporting process and the progression of our initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly reporting packages for the business units of the Company, as well as consolidated and subsidiary entity level quarterly and year-end financial statements.
  • Oversee the monthly accounting close process, including the preparation and review of account reconciliations, journal entries, and monthly accounting reports in compliance with SOX regulations.
  • Gather data for various internal and external reports, including surveys.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Support SOX compliance and audit processes.
  • Aid in the preparation of tax returns and provisions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree along with a CPA accounting designation or equivalent.
  • At least five (5) years of accounting experience within a public company.
  • Familiarity with SAP, US GAAP, and SOX is considered advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent research and analytical abilities.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Exceptional written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team across various functional areas.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Compensation: CDN$100,000-$115,000 annually, plus an annual bonus.
