We are seeking a committed, enthusiastic, and proactive Project Coordinator who will oversee the administrative and technical aspects of assigned construction projects. Key responsibilities include facilitating activities related to procurement, contract management, change orders, submissions, scheduling, safety, and quality assurance. This role is based in our Waterloo office with some travel required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to all safety regulations.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Draft and negotiate contract agreements, scopes of work, and change orders.
- Implement and refine current procedures while contributing to enhancements across all operational functions, including design feasibility, preconstruction, staffing, site logistics, safety, budgeting, value engineering, job costing, scheduling, quality assurance, phased occupancy, unit deliveries, and project completion.
- Prepare and present monthly Construction Status Reports.
- Oversee the acquisition of all necessary construction permits.
- Ensure project expenditures align with approved budgets.
- Facilitate the approval process for trade contractor invoices and change order requests.
- Organize and lead all project meetings essential for coordinating work activities.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all major project issues and priorities.
- Conduct thorough Value Engineering analysis throughout the project lifecycle.
- Keep and monitor all project documentation and correspondence to meet industry standards.
- Follow established protocols to enhance communication and overall efficiency.
- Accountable for achieving financial, budgetary, and forecasting goals.
- Conduct on-site inspections to verify compliance with standards and requirements.
- Obtain occupancy certificates.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Project Manager or Senior VP of Design & Construction.
Qualifications:
- Project Management training or a related college diploma.
- 3-5 years of experience in a project management role within Ontario, managing projects valued at $2 million and above.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, MS Project, and Bluebeam software.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and effective problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
