Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team at Arvan Rehab Group. This role focuses on enhancing the quality of life for residents in a Long Term Care environment. The Occupational Therapist will collaborate with residents to facilitate improvements in their daily living activities.

Work Schedule:
Part-time commitment of 6 hours per week, temporary position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive OT/ADP evaluations for residents in accordance with professional standards, formulate personalized treatment strategies, and maintain accurate documentation in the health record system.
  • Conduct assessments related to feeding capabilities of residents.
  • Evaluate fall prevention measures and the use of restraints, including assessments of bed rail safety.
  • Collaborate with Physiotherapy and Nursing staff on wound care management, including positioning and safe transfer techniques.
  • Engage with a multi-disciplinary team to provide recommendations for additional interventions or therapies, ensuring adherence to best practice guidelines.

Required Qualifications:
  • Current registration and good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario, along with ADP Authorizer status.
  • Possession of Professional Liability Insurance.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with residents and their families.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Experience in a Long Term Care setting is highly desirable.
  • A current police check for the Vulnerable Sector is mandatory.
