We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced welding instructor to join our team at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. As a faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in our welding programs, ensuring they receive a high-quality education and gain the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the industry.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver engaging and effective lesson plans, incorporating a range of teaching methods and technologies.
- Provide one-on-one instruction and guidance to students, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback, using a variety of evaluation methods to ensure fairness and accuracy.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum, ensuring it remains relevant and up-to-date.
- Participate in departmental and institutional committees, contributing to the development of policies and procedures that support student success.
- Master's degree in a relevant field, such as welding engineering or materials science.
- Minimum five years of experience in welding, including teaching and industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes, including shielded metal arc welding, gas metal arc welding, and gas tungsten arc welding.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and industry partners.
