Electrical Systems Designer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in GTA or Waterloo offices. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in the design and implementation of electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct condition assessments for various facilities, including report writing and client meetings.
- Prepare detailed design drawing packages for projects of varying scale, including utility interconnection, substation design support, electrical system protection and coordination, and more.
- Complete and review electrical design calculations.
- Model electrical systems using ETAP, SKM, or Easy Power.
- Prepare contract documentation, including equipment specifications, cable/conduit schedules, and installation specifications.
- Work as part of the electrical project team, monitoring schedule, quality of deliverables, and budgets.
- Support during tendering and construction, including responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and evaluating electrical reports.
- Prepare and lead electrical-specific meetings with clients, presenting design options and system functionality.
- Coordinate electrical system designs with other engineering disciplines and provide direction to the internal designers/drafter team.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes and standards, relevant industry standards, and regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Registered member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario and P.Eng. license (mandatory).
- Engineering licenses or registration with relevant organizations in other provinces and US states (asset).
- 5-10 years of experience in electrical system design and implementation, including power distribution, standby power & generators, motors and drives, and lighting.
- Fire Alarm systems design experience (asset).
- Excellent knowledge of Canadian electrical codes and standards, US codes and standards, and relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to exercise sound judgment.
- Self-motivated, with a strong desire to learn.
- Well organized, able to multi-task and lead multiple projects.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written/oral communication skills.
- Ability to work in a multicultural team and cooperate with other members of the team.
