Proficient in interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to ascertain work procedures.Operations:
Millwrights are tasked with the installation, alignment, disassembly, and relocation of stationary industrial machinery and mechanical apparatus, including pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces, and generators, in accordance with layout plans utilizing hand and power tools. They are responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, as well as programmable logic controls. Additionally, they assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.Operational Functions:
Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks, and tractors to position machinery and components during installation, setup, and repair. Also skilled in using machine tools like drills and grinders to fabricate necessary parts during overhauls, maintenance, or setups.Troubleshooting:
Conduct inspections and evaluations of machinery and equipment to identify and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.Maintenance:
Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective components. Responsible for cleaning, lubricating, and performing routine maintenance tasks on machinery.Additional Duties:
Undertake other responsibilities as assigned to support the efficient operation of the facility.Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with fellow millwrights, electricians, welders, and production personnel to achieve assigned tasks.Specific Accountabilities:
Millwrights must fulfill the following obligations:
Engage in plant safety initiatives, including conducting risk assessments prior to each task. Maintain exemplary attendance. Complete scheduled tasks punctually. Provide constructive feedback to Maintenance Supervisors for process improvements.Reporting Structure:
Millwrights report directly to the maintenance supervisor and maintenance manager.Qualifications
Candidates must possess their Industrial Mechanic Millwright certification from the college of trades or their interprovincial red seal certification.Competencies:
