Job Summary:

The successful candidate will assist our experienced painters and decorators in a variety of tasks, including preparing surfaces, repairing cracks and holes, mixing paint, and applying finishes to interior and exterior surfaces.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Surface Preparation: Prepare, clean, and sand surfaces to be painted.
  • Repair and Maintenance: Repair cracks and holes in walls and ceilings.
  • Paint Mixing and Application: Mix paint to desired color and texture, and apply paint, wallpaper, and other materials to interior and exterior surfaces.
  • Customer Service: Advise consumers on colors and choice of wall coverings.
  • Equipment and Machinery: Operate airless spray equipment, brush painting, conventional spray painting, and roller painting.
  • Surface Preparation Experience: Assist with drywall taping and patching.
  • Coating/Application Specialization: Apply novelty and decorative effects, fire retardants, and multi-color finishes.
  • Wood Finishing Specialization: Assist with staining.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work in a physically demanding environment, requiring attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and ability to distinguish between colors.
  • Weight Handling: Lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Own Tools/Equipment: Provide own tools, steel-toed safety boots, and uniform.
  • Personal Suitability: Demonstrate client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, initiative, reliability, and teamwork.
