Sessional Instructor in Indigenous Studies

The Department of Indigenous Studies within the College of Arts and Science, alongside the Gwenna Moss Centre for Teaching and Learning, is seeking applications for a Sessional Instructor to deliver community-focused courses in the upcoming academic sessions.

Course Offerings:
  • Course Title: CREE (E11) nehiyawetan Let Us Speak Cree
  • Course Title: INDG (E11) Introduction to Canadian Indigenous Studies
  • Course Title: INDG (E12) Introduction to the Health and Well Being of Indigenous Peoples

Delivery Format: These courses will be conducted in-person.

Course Schedule: Specific days and times will be arranged in collaboration with the selected candidate, with a typical schedule of Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM; evening and weekend sessions will require special approval.

Enrollment Capacity: Each course is expected to accommodate up to 40 students.

Location: The courses will take place in a designated area.

Qualifications: Candidates should possess a graduate degree in Indigenous Studies or a related field, along with relevant teaching or professional experience. A deep understanding of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit cultures, as well as the socio-economic and educational dynamics pertinent to these communities, is essential.

A valid driver's license is required for any off-campus instructional activities. The appointment will include additional days to account for preparation and grading responsibilities. Note that courses may be subject to cancellation due to insufficient enrollment.
