Job Title: Barista (Gerts)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Barista to join our team at Gerts Cafe. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food items to our customers. You will work in a fast-paced environment, handling cash and card transactions, maintaining a clean and sanitized workspace, and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and espresso-based beverages
  • Prepare and serve food items, such as sandwiches and pastries
  • Handle and serve food and drink items in accordance with company standards and regulations
  • Maintain a clean and sanitized workspace, including washing dishes and cleaning surfaces
  • Manage inventory and restock supplies as needed
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to customer inquiries
  • Work collaboratively with the team to maintain a positive and efficient work environment

Requirements:

  • 1 year of experience as a barista or in a related role
  • Ability to work calmly and professionally in a high-pressure environment
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods of time
  • Knowledge of coffee and food preparation methods
  • Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing situations

Working Conditions:

The Barista will work in a fast-paced cafe environment, with frequent exposure to noise, heat, and physical activity. The Barista will be required to stand for long periods of time, lift heavy objects, and work in a team environment.

Compensation:

The Barista will be paid $15.25 per hour.
