Job Title: Chief of Family Medicine

The Department of Family and Community Medicine at Humber River Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief of Family Medicine to lead our team of family physicians. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving excellence in patient care through strategic leadership and planning, promoting quality improvement and patient safety, and fostering medical education and efficient resource allocation within the Department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the Department's mission, objectives, and strategic plan.
  • Support and enable a departmental culture that prioritizes physician wellness and equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Facilitate the continued academic advancement and training of credentialled staff by supporting research, education, and quality initiatives within the Department.
  • Oversee the Schulich FMTU and have your practice based out of the Schulich FMTU.
  • Provide leadership to the NWT OHT's Primary Care Executive Committee and help build a primary care network that advances integrated care within our community.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience practicing in family medicine with demonstrated excellence in clinical care and leadership in a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and team-building skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and work well with others.
  • Member of, or eligible for membership, with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Ontario and certified with the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
  • Demonstrated interest in education initiatives, including the teaching and supervision of medical students.
