Job Title: Chief of Family Medicine

The Department of Family Medicine at Humber River Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief of Family Medicine to lead our team of family physicians. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving excellence in patient care, promoting quality improvement and patient safety, and fostering medical education and research within the department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the department's strategic plan, aligning with the hospital's mission and goals.
  • Lead the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives, ensuring high-quality patient care and safety.
  • Collaborate with medical directors, vice presidents, and other healthcare professionals to advance departmental initiatives and integrate strategies across the hospital.
  • Support and enable a departmental culture that prioritizes physician wellness, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Facilitate the continued academic advancement and training of credentialled staff, supporting research, education, and quality initiatives within the department.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience practicing in family medicine, with demonstrated excellence in clinical care and leadership in a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and team-building skills, with a proven ability to lead and work well with others.
  • Strong communication and advocacy skills, with the ability to collaborate with other departments and participate in administrative meetings and initiatives.
  • Member of, or eligible for membership, with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Ontario and certified with the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
  • Demonstrated interest in education initiatives, including teaching and supervision of medical students, with a faculty appointment at the Rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto.
