Position Summary: Asphalt Labourers play a crucial role in the safe and effective execution of highway and other paving activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Rake and redistribute asphalt mix as it exits the screed to prepare surfaces for rolling;
  • Efficiently spread asphalt while maintaining a steady workflow;
  • Shovel excess asphalt and clear debris from the work area;
  • Utilize a range of hand and power tools, as well as some machinery;
  • Engage in various tasks that require significant physical effort;
  • Remain vigilant of surroundings at all times;
  • Keep the job site tidy by collecting tools and equipment to mitigate potential hazards;
  • Ensure a safe working environment in accordance with all safety regulations, utilizing the correct tools and equipment for each task;
  • Prioritize the safety of fellow workers;
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a construction setting is advantageous;
  • Possession of a valid driver's license in good standing;
  • Willingness to collaborate in a team environment, with the potential for extended hours;
  • Capability to operate necessary equipment safely and responsibly;
  • Effective communication skills with colleagues and supervisors to ensure proper project completion;
