The OpportunityWe are seeking an Intermediate Geophysicist to join our team in the Prairies and North Region. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving forward our ambitious plans to enhance our Earth and Environment service offering in the province or territory.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct shallow ground geophysical surveys, including Seismic Refraction, MASW, Electrical Resistivity Imaging, Magnetics, Ground Penetrating Radar, Electromagnetics, and Microgravity methods on land, in boreholes, and over water.
- Work with multi-disciplinary project teams in an office setting.
- Design and plan geophysical survey programs.
- Process and interpret data using industry-standard geophysical interpretation software.
- Write technical reports and presentations, including data visualization.
- Write proposals.
- Maintain and calibrate geophysical equipment.
- Liaise with clients.
- Demonstrate a "Safety First" focus and act as a role model to other staff.
- A university degree in Geophysics, Earth Sciences, Geological Engineering, or a related discipline, majoring in Geophysics.
- 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Eligible for registration with APEGA.
- Experience with geophysical methods such as Seismic Refraction, MASW, Electrical Resistivity Imaging, Magnetics, Ground Penetrating Radar, Electromagnetics, and Microgravity methods on land, in boreholes, and over water.
- Ability to travel and complete field work (30-50%).
- Ability to work outdoors, including in remote areas in Canada.
- Physical fitness, mechanical aptitude, experience with computers and electronics.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
