Field Service Heavy Equipment Technician

Brandt is currently in search of a Field Service Heavy Equipment Technician for our Construction & Forestry division. This role is essential for the upkeep and repair of construction machinery, aggregate/crushing units, pavers/compaction tools, and forestry equipment in a field setting.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assess the operational status of heavy machinery
  2. Diagnose, assemble/disassemble, procure parts for, and repair heavy machinery
  3. Utilize secondary materials and equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  4. Dismantle, repair, and reassemble industrial machinery and mechanical equipment as per specifications
  5. Operate hoisting devices to position machinery and components during assembly, installation, and/or repair tasks
  6. Test and provide feedback on both existing and newly manufactured industrial equipment
  7. Inspect, diagnose, and rectify issues with malfunctioning machinery and equipment
  8. Perform cleaning, lubrication, and routine maintenance on machinery
  9. Prepare electronic inspection and service documentation
  10. Utilize parts catalogs to identify and order necessary components
  11. Conduct road tests on equipment and verify attachment functionality as required
  12. Other responsibilities as assigned

Essential Skills

  • Strong communication abilities with customers, service teams, and branch staff
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Technical proficiency for diagnostics and calibration tasks
  • Analytical skills for identifying equipment repair requirements
  • Time-management capabilities to operate effectively under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills to understand customer needs
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members
  • Dedication to high-quality customer service with a focus on people
  • Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds

Required Experience

  • Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or an equivalent recognized trade is preferred
  • Prior mechanical experience in a heavy equipment setting is considered an asset
  • Experience with electrical diagnostics/troubleshooting and aftertreatment systems is advantageous
