About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team at the Government of Northwest Territories. As a key member of our Procurement Shared Services team, you will play a critical role in providing professional and valued-added services in the procurement of goods and services on behalf of departments, boards, and agencies throughout the Government.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice on tendering, contracting, contract administration, and contract management.
  • Develop and implement policies, systems, and procedures to ensure professional, fair, and consistent tendering and awarding of contracts.
  • Manage approximately $90-$100 million annually in contract and procurement activities originated by GNWT departments, boards, and agencies.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of procurement strategies to meet the needs of the Government.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective procurement practices and processes.
Requirements
  • A Level 4 status with the Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC) or equivalent level with the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP).
  • A diploma in Commerce or Business Administration and 5 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, procurement, contract management, and administration.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with stakeholders.

  • A competitive salary range of $51.42-$61.41 per hour (approximately $100,269-$119,749) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,700.
