Overview

The Liberal Party of Canada is in search of a Communications Manager to enhance our dedicated communications team supporting our leadership and initiatives aimed at advancing Canadian values.

This position, reporting directly to the Director of Communications, will play a pivotal role in managing and executing multi-channel communication strategies for the Liberal Party of Canada. The successful candidate will oversee various communication outputs, including social media, digital content, media relations, and event communications, ensuring alignment with our organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily communication priorities across the organization.
  • Assist the Director of Communications and the Director of Projects and Strategic Communications in maintaining message consistency across all platforms.
  • Design, develop, and implement comprehensive communication strategies for diverse audiences.
  • Oversee the drafting and review of communication materials, including social media content, digital engagement, and website updates.
  • Prepare and manage responses to media inquiries, engage with journalists, and monitor media coverage of the Liberal Party of Canada.
  • Support media and communication needs during significant Liberal events.
  • Lead the team that assists candidates with policy, messaging, media relations, and campaign tools.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Fluency in both of Canada's official languages is essential.
  • Strong understanding of current events and Canadian political landscape.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a political context.
  • Exceptional project management capabilities.
  • Proficient writing skills in both long and short formats, particularly for press releases, advisories, speeches, and other media materials.
  • Resourceful with strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment for quick decision-making.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with experience in facilitating volunteer engagement.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of working independently and collaboratively.
