**Job Summary**

Telesat is a leading global satellite operator, providing reliable and secure satellite-delivered communications solutions worldwide to broadcast, telecommunications, corporate, and government customers. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Integration and Test Engineer to join our team in Ottawa, Canada.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Develop and maintain system verification and validation plans for the Telesat LEO constellation communication system.
  • Participate in testing activities across the Telesat Lightspeed system with vendors and other partners.
  • Maintain lab setups and support field activities when required.
  • Issue recommendations and have influence on the system verification and validation of the Telesat Lightspeed system.
  • Develop system and sub-system verification matrices against system requirements.
  • Coordinate and participate in system-level testing activities, including test planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Serve as a SATCOM SME and support other technical staff as required.
  • Develop and maintain test cases, test beds required for various test cases.
  • Hands-on testing in the Leo Lab for various data path and routing features.
  • Work with other segments, such as DevOps, Ground Systems, Satellite, and foster a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Play an active role in component and subsystem design and test activities.
  • Configure test equipment, such as Satellite Link Emulators, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and traffic generators.
  • Ensure the product under test meets technical, functional, performance, and business requirements.
  • Work with partners and other vendors in various test campaigns.
  • Strong exposure to modulation and coding used in modern satellite communication standards, such as DVB-S2X, TDMA, DVB-RCS2, etc.
  • Strong understanding of Linux, IP, and routing protocols.
  • Demonstrated understanding of air interfaces, modem technologies, modulation, and coding, and its impact on the satellite link performance.
  • Experience in test case and defect tracking tools, such as Jira, Jama.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with management, engineering teams, and partners/suppliers.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Proficient with MATLAB, Python, or C++.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Automation experience with programming languages, such as Python.

**Requirements**

  • Must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
