Radiation Therapist

Alberta Health Services is seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our patient-focused radiation therapy team. Reporting to the Radiation Therapy Associate Manager, this role will provide crucial expertise and interdisciplinary collaboration toward the delivery of specialized treatment planning for our valued patients. The Radiation Therapist will join an amazing team that fosters unique opportunities to work closely with our dedicated Radiation Therapists, Radiation Oncologists, and Medical Physicists. Position responsibilities will include conformal and inverse planning along with participation in the department's brachytherapy program with potential career growth into SRS planning.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement radiation treatment plans in collaboration with Radiation Oncologists and Medical Physicists.
- Conduct dosimetry calculations and generate radiation dose distributions.
- Train and mentor new staff, rotational staff, residents, and Radiation Therapy students.
- Participate in the department's brachytherapy program and contribute to the development of new treatment protocols.
- Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy or completion of Medical Radiation Therapy diploma and Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification, or equivalent.
- Six (6) months of experience in a radiation therapy department.
- Current working expertise in 3D conformal planning, simple VMAT planning, Complex (SBRT) VMAT planning, and brachytherapy.
