POSITION OVERVIEW:

The CFL's rich Canadian heritage and esteemed legacy are brought to life through its engaging fan-oriented content and initiatives. As our audience evolves in how they consume this beloved game, the league is also adapting. We seek a dedicated and skilled Lead Video Production Coordinator to enhance our brand and digital presence.

Reporting to the Manager of Video Production, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to film, edit, and produce captivating video content that supports the CFL's growth by covering and promoting key events and executing innovative brand and commercial programming.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the CFL Content Marketing team with video capturing, editing, and archiving footage.
  • Filming, lighting, and editing interviews, press conferences, live game action, and other events as needed.
  • Collaborating with the Content team on weekly narratives and the visual components that support them.
  • Mentoring and overseeing seasonal Junior Coordinators reporting to this role.
  • Maintaining and expanding the video archive, fulfilling footage requests.
  • Supporting CFL productions for significant events such as the CFL Combine, Grey Cup Playoffs, and Grey Cup.
  • Overseeing the Video and CFL YouTube channels, optimizing for growth.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient video editor with expertise in Adobe Premiere or similar software.
  • Familiarity with the complete Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience in both long-form and short-form storytelling, including highlight reels, athlete features, narratives, documentaries, and in-stadium content.
  • Strong camera operation skills, with experience in using mirrorless and cinema cameras being a plus.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to work independently or collaboratively within a project team. Must be open to feedback and alternative approaches.
  • Extensive knowledge of the CFL and football is considered a significant asset.
  • Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects while maintaining composure under pressure.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, fan preferences, pop culture, and evolving software resources.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:

  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Potential travel to CFL pillar events, including but not limited to CFL Combine, Grey Cup Playoffs, and Grey Cup.
