About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at JnB Homecare Services Ltd.

Job Summary

This is a permanent position that requires a high level of physical fitness and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing patient care and support in a home care and visiting care agency setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients
  • Assist with meal preparation and serving
  • Perform light housekeeping duties, such as cleaning and laundry
  • Assist with medication management and administration
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes to the healthcare team
  • Assist with transfers and mobility
  • Provide support with daily routines, such as toileting and incontinence care
  • Assist with wound care and dressing changes
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Post-secondary education in a related field an asset
  • Minimum 6 months of experience in a healthcare setting
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds and stand for long periods
