Job Summary:

We are seeking an engineering professional to support utility services, capital projects, and maintenance programs. The successful candidate will prepare contract documents, coordinate project designs, and monitor construction. They will also liaise with the public and external agencies, build relationships with consultants and Provincial agencies, and collaborate with City of West Kelowna departments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparing contract documents and coordinating project designs
  • Monitoring construction and liaising with the public and external agencies

  • Providing technical support to municipal work crews
  • Responding to engineering inquiries related to infrastructure
  • Presenting as required and supervising and inspecting engineering services

Requirements:
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Member of, or eligibility for full membership in, the Applied Science Technologist and Technicians Association of BC as an AScT or CTech
  • Minimum of 3 years design and inspection experience in the field of Municipal Engineering
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License
  • Knowledge of engineering and operations practices, design principles, and cost estimation
  • Familiarity with municipal, provincial, and federal regulations
  • Skills in data interpretation, technical report preparation, and recommendations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, GIS, and experience with relevant models
  • Strong verbal and written communication, customer service, and organizational skills
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and communicate policies with tact and discretion
