Your Role:
As a Windows Administrator – Level 2, you will play a crucial role within the Operations team, collaborating closely with fellow Windows System Administrators, Security personnel, and the Cyber Security Operations Center. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and support our Windows environments, focusing on corporate services for Exchange, Active Directory, and desktop management (including GPO, SCCM, MDT, and MSI repackaging).
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer corporate Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange environments, serving as a Subject Matter Expert for internal and client-facing AD & Exchange deployments.
- Develop, implement, and oversee desktop management policies aimed at securing desktops, applying group policies, and deploying software.
- Update documentation, create new procedures, and detail configurations for Exchange and Active Directory.
- Provide timely and high-quality incident resolution and conduct post-incident analyses focusing on root causes, prevention, and knowledge transfer.
- Formulate and execute strategies for proactive support to reduce incidents, enhance availability, and expedite deployments.
- Respond promptly to Support and Operations cases related to Exchange, AD, or other Windows Server issues.
- Ensure high service availability for all Windows systems.
- Confirm that corporate services comply with our Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Programs.
About You:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of direct experience with Exchange and at least 5 years of overall IT administration and advanced computer support experience.
- Proficient in technology infrastructure design, implementation, and management, including Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, MDT, and SCCM.
- Capable of monitoring, testing, and analyzing system activities to ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and availability.
- Skilled in analyzing system usage and planning for growth or increases in system capacity.
- Adept at identifying and resolving issues affecting system performance, efficiency, and availability in a timely manner.
- Experienced in assessing the need for system reconfigurations, whether minor or significant.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Exchange, including experience with mailbox server failover and cluster management.
- Strong understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, DFS-R, File and Print Services, and GPO validation, management, and implementation.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Exchange PowerShell commands necessary for managing Exchange features, roles, mailboxes, performance, and troubleshooting.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Project and Visio, with knowledge of Office Outlook features, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues, as well as creating documentation processes and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently in an organized manner within a complex and challenging setting.
- Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in both verbal and written English.
- Strong organizational skills and initiative.
- Resourceful in problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of IP phone systems is considered an asset.
- Microsoft MCSA, A+, or MTA certification is a plus.
Compensation:
Global Relay adheres to pay transparency laws, advertising the salary range for this role. In addition to the annual base salary, compensation includes a corporate bonus, extended health benefits, and RRSP matching.
