About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator to join our team at Steelnorth Fabricators Ltd. As a Metal Fabricator, you will be responsible for interpreting engineering drawings and instructions to plan methods and sequences of operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpretation and Planning: Interpret engineering drawings and others' instructions to plan methods and sequences of operation.
  • Laying Out and Assembling: Lay out reference points and patterns, assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures.
  • Metalworking and Fabrication: Plan the sequence of tasks to cut metal most efficiently, study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine material requirements, weld or bolt sections together.
  • Machining and Installation: Set up and operate heavy-duty metal-working machines, construct patterns and templates, install fabricated components in final product.
  • Material Handling: Rig, hoist and move materials to storage areas or within worksite.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Work Setting: Relocation costs not covered by employer.
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding, manual dexterity, hand-eye co-ordination, combination of sitting, standing, walking.
  • Attention to Detail: Attention to detail, fast-paced environment.
  • Tools and Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, gloves, welding helmet.
