About the Role

BMT Canada is seeking a highly experienced Principal Pipeline Engineer to join our team and contribute to the enhancement of our capacity and capability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Executing and directing technical projects related to pipeline design and integrity assessment.
  • Providing guidance and mentoring to junior staff members.
  • Writing, reviewing, and contributing to project reports and technical documents.
  • Managing and contributing to multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Leading technical teams in code compliance review and assessments, leveraging expertise in Canadian and US pipeline and energy sector standards and codes of practice.
  • Supporting project and business management, identifying opportunities for technology and staff improvement.
  • Recruiting and supporting the development of additional staff members.
  • Reviewing, discussing, and referring business opportunities to appropriate business units within Infrastructure.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Principal Pipeline Engineer who possesses the following qualifications and skills:

  • Over 15 years of related engineering experience in the North American Energy Pipeline and/or Industrial Plant Service sector.
  • Proven engineering skills and a valid Professional Engineering license.
  • Post-Graduate degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Civil Engineering is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering applied to the energy sector, including leadership and management experience.
  • Expertise in design, fitness for service assessment, materials, welding, forensic investigation, and numerical modeling.
  • Industry recognition as a subject matter expert in energy sector.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience working in a small fast-paced team environment.
