Position Overview:

The Law Society of British Columbia is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual for the role of Senior Policy Analyst. This full-time, permanent position is integral to our Policy & Planning department, where you will engage in critical research and analysis to influence key regulatory issues and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert advice and strategic recommendations on regulations and policies to senior management and committees.
  • Formulate policy frameworks that align with the Law Society's strategic objectives and mandate.
  • Manage emerging policy issues by preparing comprehensive recommendations that reflect the Law Society's priorities.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of social, economic, and legal factors impacting the Law Society's objectives, identifying risks and proposing viable solutions.
  • Research and evaluate regulatory frameworks in other jurisdictions, suggesting enhancements to our own regulations.
  • Draft submissions to governmental and external bodies that articulate the Law Society's policy positions.
  • Engage with governmental entities, the public, and professional organizations to facilitate policy development.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Policy & Practice.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in public administration, public policy, social sciences, or a related field, accompanied by a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in policy analysis.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a strong proficiency in research and writing, complemented by excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within diverse teams and engage with individuals from various backgrounds.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $84,422 to $91,763, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health and dental coverage, employee assistance programs, and wellness initiatives.
