Position OverviewThe Plant Manager will oversee all operational aspects in Chippawa, Canada, driving continuous enhancements in critical operational metrics such as Safety, Productivity, and Service while achieving all financial objectives of the facility.
The role entails managing all dimensions of plant operations to guarantee timely delivery of high-quality products globally while minimizing costs, inventory levels, and waste. Key responsibilities include:
- Executing initiatives for ongoing enhancement of customer service, product quality, process efficiency, cost reduction, and inventory management.
- Upholding programs to ensure that the facility meets or surpasses company standards for Health, Safety, and Environment.
- Identifying and advancing continuous improvement initiatives for HSE and Quality Assurance.
- Overseeing plant financials including budgeting, procurement, and capital investments.
- Planning and managing Human Resources, focusing on ethical practices, workforce optimization, training, and performance assessments.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or materials science is mandatory.
- Master's degree is preferred (MBA, chemistry, materials science, engineering, etc.).
- Years of management experience in the abrasive sector is preferred.
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, leadership, and team-building abilities.
- Strong comprehension of manufacturing processes with the capability to recognize broad business challenges and formulate plans to achieve objectives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- EHS Management: Oversee all key elements of EHS reporting and outcomes. Foster a culture aimed at proactively mitigating EHS risks.
- Production Management: Supervise all facets of plant operations, ensuring consistent advancements in OTD, quality, production efficiency, costs, and inventory control.
- Personnel Management: Mentor, coach, and assess site personnel while cultivating a culture of continuous improvement.
- Capital Management: Oversee all aspects of capital planning and execution.
- Strategic Development: Formulate a Vision for the site to guide priorities and challenge existing norms.
