Position: Tailor (6 months)

The Tailor is responsible for fitting, pinning, marking, and altering garments according to client specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess client measurements to determine the scope of alterations needed
  • Pin and mark garments appropriately based on fabric type to ensure an accurate fit
  • Execute alterations as pinned and marked, adhering to the highest technical standards
  • Deliver completed garments on or before the promised date
  • Communicate alteration charges to clients based on the current pricing structure
  • Confirm and relay the completion date for alterations
  • Collaborate professionally with Sales Associates to enhance client satisfaction
  • Provide expert advice on garment cut and fit
  • Complete necessary sections of the alterations tag
  • Adhere to Holt Renfrew's pricing guidelines
  • Notify the department manager of supply needs or equipment repairs
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment
  • Comply with all Health & Safety regulations and policies
  • Ensure adherence to privacy policies, regulations, and cybersecurity protocols

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Technical training in tailoring or seamstress work, or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Prior experience in altering luxury fabrics
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and/or French

Success Metrics:

  • Contribution to financial targets
  • Achievement of individual objectives aligned with departmental goals
  • Positive feedback from both internal and external clients
