We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at Newcrest Mining Limited. As a key member of our Maintenance Department, you will be responsible for leading technical excellence in electrical maintenance and reliability to ensure a safe operation.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Leadership: Proactively lead technical excellence in electrical maintenance and reliability to ensure a safe operation.
- Reliability Analysis: Identify and lead reliability analysis & improvement initiatives for electrical assets, including Winder Hoisting System, Mills, Crushers, Conveyors, Pumps, and Power Distribution.
- Engineering and Capital Project Management: Develop and implement improvements to plant and equipment, including engineering and capital project management.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support for fault finding and repairs, working closely with electrical supervisors and technicians.
- Standard Development: Create, update, and review new or existing site electrical standards and procedures, including low voltage, high voltage, hazardous areas, functional safety, etc.
- Root Cause Analysis: Be accountable for Root Cause Analysis (RCA's) related to electrical related events.
- Safety and Business Risk Management: Identify and manage safety and business risks associated with electrical installations.
- Maintenance Strategies: Develop and improve upon maintenance strategies and tactics.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure the safety of yourself and all other personnel while ensuring compliance with Newmont Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental Policies & Procedures.
- Education: An Engineers Australia recognised degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: A minimum 7 year demonstrated experience in the Mining Industry.
- Technical Skills: Demonstrated Processing Plant and heavy industry hands on experience, working closely with electrical maintenance personnel. Sound experience with electrical network modelling software (such as ETAP, DIGSilent). A solid working knowledge of AS3000 and AS3008.
- Leadership Experience: Previous experience demonstrating electrical engineering leadership within the Owner's team is highly regarded.
