About the Role

The Facilities Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. This role will involve performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to ensure the facility is running efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts as needed.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Repair and replace faulty or damaged equipment and components.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and prevent downtime.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless operations and resolve issues promptly.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices to ensure the facility remains compliant with regulations and industry standards.

Requirements

  • College Diploma/Certification in a relevant field (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Gasfitter I & II license and refrigeration license.
  • Working towards Building Environment Systems (BES) Operation Class 1.
  • Facilities Technician Certification through an accredited institution.
  • Systems Maintenance Technician (SMT) certification.
