Position Overview:

MPE Engineering Ltd. is seeking a qualified individual to contribute to a diverse array of municipal engineering services. Our operations encompass:

  • Water treatment and distribution systems
  • Wastewater treatment and collection networks
  • Stormwater management solutions
  • Transportation engineering
  • Infrastructure rehabilitation projects
  • Engagement in all project phases, from initial concepts to detailed design, tendering, construction contract management, and resident engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

This intermediate-level role requires collaboration within a team setting, addressing all project aspects from preliminary engineering through to construction completion. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting detailed design work
  • Estimating project costs
  • Communicating effectively with clients
  • Collaborating with fellow design professionals
  • Administering contracts during the construction phase
  • Supervising field personnel during construction
  • Performing fieldwork as necessary
  • Preparing technical documentation and proposals
  • Undertaking additional duties as required

Our office environment is optimally sized, allowing the successful candidate to take on significant responsibilities on projects while engaging directly with clients and contractors.

Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer designation in Alberta (APEGA) or Technologist designation through ASET
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant Civil Engineering experience
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D software
  • Familiarity with water, sewer, and stormwater modeling software is advantageous
