Job Overview

The Educational Support Consultant plays a crucial role in guiding educational staff and services in the effective execution, enhancement, and assessment of curricular initiatives, classroom strategies, and the promotion of inclusivity across various dimensions such as disability, gender, race, and ethnic background within the Central Quebec School Board.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Engage in the formulation of educational initiatives and targeted projects within the educational institutions.
  • Assist in the development, execution, and assessment of academic success strategies while ensuring compliance with educational and administrative standards at both the institutional and board levels.
  • Facilitate the rollout of curricular and training initiatives.
  • Provide expert advice to educators and administrative personnel on the interpretation of curricular frameworks.
  • Design and conduct workshops and training sessions pertinent to curricular initiatives.
  • Support educators both individually and collectively to enhance their daily instructional practices.
  • Develop or curate and implement training and educational enhancement activities tailored to meet the diverse needs of students in terms of adaptation, innovation, and pedagogical growth.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and students to formulate and review personalized intervention strategies for students facing disabilities or learning challenges.
  • Assist educators in crafting and executing strategies and projects aimed at supporting students with learning or adaptation challenges.
  • Guide school teams in applying optimal universal classroom management techniques and designing effective learning environments.
  • Advise educators and administrators regarding professional development programs.
  • Plan and assess professional growth initiatives for staff.
  • Evaluate and provide recommendations on the selection of educational resources, supplementary materials, specialized tools, and software.
  • Advise educational staff on the assignment of technological aids as adaptive strategies.
  • Collaborate on initiatives for the integration of technology in educational settings.
  • Develop and facilitate workshops focused on components of technology integration programs.
  • Work in partnership with other educational stakeholders, community organizations, Centers of Excellence, and the Ministry of Education.
  • Travel to various educational institutions as required.
